Project 001. Sheep guts and stir fried

“With colonization comes the removal of the guts; the ability to acquire knowledge without recourse to conscious reasoning; like trained sheep, we believed what they sold us” states the artist. Her social and cultural analysis expressed through the process of making food aims to reevaluate and deconstruct what has been transmitted by colonization. Ramata adds “we are lost, constrained to non-identity save for the one they created for us.” We must now engage in the process of defining ourselves according to our own structural and historical realities.
