Designed and founded by Christopher Akpo in 2018, SUBWAESTUDIOS is a unisex fashion label and curated concept centered upon storytelling. Described as, “STORYTELLING UNISEX BRAND WITH AESTHETIC EVOLUTION”, the brand's silhouette is inspired and defined by architecture, art, minimalist aesthetics, and the Ghanaian landscape. With an additional focus on sustainability, all the materials sourced by SUBWAESTUDIOS are based and produced in Ghana. SUBWAESTUDIOS proposes new ways to experiment with temporal spaces while offering a systematic and experimental approach to garment design. Art installations in temporary and permanent spaces, led by Akpo’s diverse personal perspective provide a space to not only interact with the physicality of the garments but also to expand upon the storytelling and narration behind a collection’s concept.
